The Association was incorporated in 1998 as a result of an ethical vision of eleven founders. Initially it was called Laminate Raw Material Suppliers Association of India (LRMSAI). The idea was to unite the fraternity of handful of suppliers to the Laminate Manufacturing Industry. The mission was to promote ethical and transparent business practices and in return safeguard the commercial interests of the suppliers against the unsecured business transactions. The journey of fourteen years has been exciting and eventful. The Association has been able to forge sustaining relationships with other active and complementary organizations such as 'Indian Laminate Manufacturer’s Association' (ILMA) , Plywood Manufacturers, Pre-lam Board Manufacturers etc. Media partnerships have been stitched with Ply Reporter and Ply Gazette. The Association is also on the roster of ‘Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry’ (GCCI).
Keeping easy accessibility and effective governance in mind, The Association is sub-divided into three chapters, namely Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Delhi. Governance of The Association is helmed by the Managing Committee which is further strengthened by sub-committees such as Printing Committee, Machinery Committee, Chemicals Committee and Paper Committee.
Change, transition and growth are implicit to any organization. Buoyed by the vision and fraternity centric approach, today; 14 years later, the membership has swelled not only in numbers but also in geographical reach. Today the Association stands at the threshold of a new beginning with a new name ‘Laminate Material Suppliers Association’ (LMSA) and change over to a new legal entity also.
Right from its inception, what is so remarkable about this Association is, that despite being competitors the feeling of togetherness has always been intact amongst its members. The legacy is poised to survive for many more years to come. Each member in this Association aspires it to be ‘bigger, better and brighter’. Welcome to the world of Laminate Material Suppliers Association.
“UNITED WE STAND , DIVIDED WE FALL.”
